Yoga Bolster Rectangle Navy

Navy is a dark, easy colour for a rectangular yoga bolster that gets used every day. This one is 66 x 26 x 15cm, weighs 1.3kg and has cotton batting inside a soft microfibre cover. It’s a firm support for restorative yoga and a comfortable seat for meditation.

The cover is removable and machine washable, and there’s a carry handle on the side.

How to use it

Supported child’s pose is where most people start with a bolster. Kneel with your big toes together and knees apart, lay the bolster lengthways between your thighs and walk your hands forward until your chest rests on it. Turn your head to one side and let your arms rest on the floor. Halfway through, turn your head the other way.

If there’s a gap between your hips and heels, put a folded blanket across your calves. If the bolster feels low, stack a block under the far end.

A flat bolster also works in a supported fish pose for people who find a round bolster too high. Lie back with it running along your spine and your arms out to the sides.

If you need more height in child’s pose or a kneeling seat, turn the bolster onto its long edge. It then stands 26cm high instead of 15cm, though it’s less stable that way, so keep a hand on it as you settle.

Care

The cover comes off for the washing machine. Use a gentle cycle and hang it to dry. Spot clean the inner with a damp cloth and let it dry completely before the cover goes back on.
