This round yoga bolster is a firm navy cylinder, 70cm long and 24cm across, filled with cotton batting. It holds its shape when you lie along it or sit on it, which matters in restorative and yin classes where you rest in one pose for several minutes and want the support to stay put.
The soft microfibre cover unzips and goes in the washing machine. A sturdy carry handle makes it easy to take to class, and it weighs 1.4kg.

How to use it
- Supported child’s pose: kneel with the bolster lengthways between your knees and lay your chest and one cheek on it.
- Reclined bound angle: sit with one end against your lower back, lie back along it and let your knees fall open with the soles of your feet together.
- Savasana: slide it under your knees so your legs can relax completely.
- Supported fish: lie across it just below your shoulder blades for a gentle opening through the chest.
- Meditation: sit on one end to raise your hips above your knees.
If the full height is too much in a backbend, fold a blanket under your head or shuffle further down the bolster until your chest opens without strain.
Round or rectangular?
A round bolster has a curved top you can drape over, which suits backbends and lying across it. A rectangular bolster has flat sides, so it sits still on the floor and gives a broader surface to lie along. If you like navy but want the other shape, there is a rectangular yoga bolster in navy. This round bolster also comes in other colours, such as black.
Care
Unzip the cover, wash it on a gentle cycle and let it air dry before you put it back on. Keep the inner bolster out of the machine; spot clean it with a damp cloth if it needs it.
