Bloom Mini Pilates Ball 30cm Blue

The Bloom mini Pilates ball in 30cm is a soft, light inflatable ball in blue. At 30cm it’s the larger of the mini Pilates ball sizes, so it gives a bit more height when you place it under your lower back or between your knees.

It’s anti-burst to about 136kg (300lb) and comes with an inflation straw, so you can blow it up by mouth to the firmness you want.

How to use it

In mat Pilates the ball goes where you need support or something to squeeze. Lying on your back with the ball under your pelvis or lower back gives you a soft, slightly unstable base for curl-ups and leg work. Squeezing it between your knees during bridges keeps your inner thighs working. Resting your lower legs on it during floor exercises is another common use.

Most people don’t pump a mini Pilates ball up hard. Blow it up until it’s firm enough to hold its shape but soft enough to squash a little when you press it. Add a few more breaths if you want it firmer.

Mini Pilates balls come in 20, 25 and 30cm. The 30cm size gives the most lift under your back and feels the widest between the knees.

Care

Wipe the ball with a damp cloth after use and let it dry. Keep it away from sharp objects, heaters and hot cars. If you’re packing it away for a while, let some air out and store it somewhere cool.
