Choosing the right size

Go by your height. On a ball that fits, you can sit with your feet flat on the floor and your hips level with your knees or a little higher.

If you’re taller than 185cm, the 75cm anti-burst Swiss ball in black is the same design one size up. Our Swiss ball size guide goes into sizing in more detail.

How to use it

Inflate the ball most of the way with the foot pump, leave it for a day so the PVC can stretch, then top it up. An easy way to check the size is to mark 65cm on a wall and roll the ball up against the mark. Push the plug in firmly and keep the spare somewhere you’ll find it, because plugs tend to go missing when you let air out to store the ball.

If you’re using it as a desk seat, start with short spells and swap back to your chair when you get tired. For exercise, clear a bit of floor space and keep the ball well away from anything sharp.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth and a little mild soap. Keep it out of strong sun and away from heaters, and avoid using it on gravel or rough concrete. If it’s going to be stored somewhere warm, like a garage in summer, let some air out first.
