A yoga block brings the floor closer when you can’t reach it with a straight back. The foam is high density with a hardness rating of 40C, so it takes your weight without squashing, and at 210g it’s easy to carry to class.

How to use it
Standing poses are where most people use a block first. In triangle, put the block behind your front foot and rest your lower hand on it, so you can keep both sides of your waist long and turn your chest towards the ceiling. In half moon, the block under your hand gives you a steady point while you lift the back leg and find your balance.
Turn it to change the height. Flat, it gives you 7.5cm; on its side, 15cm; on its end, 23cm. Start tall and lower it as the pose gets easier.
Most people end up with two. A pair lets you put a block under each hand in a low lunge, half splits or standing forward fold, which keeps your hips level and your back flat. Buying the blocks singly means you can pick one colour or mix two.
Colours

Care
Wipe it with a damp cloth after class. Black hides scuffs well, but a drop of mild soap on the cloth now and then keeps it fresh. Let it air dry and keep it out of hot cars.
