Yoga Block Purple

The purple yoga block is a standard EVA foam block, 23 x 15 x 7.5cm and 210g, with 12 reviews, all 5 stars. It’s the block to pair with a yoga strap if you’re putting together a small kit for home practice.

The foam is high density with a hardness rating of 40C. It’s light enough to carry around but firm enough that it won’t sink when you put weight on it.

How to use it

Blocks and straps deal with the same problem from two sides. A block raises the floor to meet your hand, and a strap makes your arm longer so you can reach your foot. Between them, they cover most of the poses where your hands don’t quite get there.

In a seated forward fold, sit on the block to tilt your pelvis forward, loop a strap around the soles of your feet and hold it with both hands. Walk your hands along the strap as you lengthen, and avoid hauling yourself down with it.

In reclined hand-to-big-toe pose, lie on your back with the block under your head, loop the strap around one foot and lift the leg. The block keeps your neck comfortable while you focus on the leg.

In standing poses it does the usual job. Use it flat for 7.5cm, on its side for 15cm or on its end for 23cm, under your hand in triangle or half moon.

Care

Wipe the block with a damp cloth after use and let it dry before stacking. Keep it away from heaters and out of hot cars, as heat can warp foam.
