Cork Yoga Block Octagonal

The octagonal cork yoga block is a standard-size cork block, 23 x 15 x 7.5cm, with its long edges cut back so it has eight sides when you look at it end on. The angled edges are kinder to your hands and the backs of your thighs than square corners, and the block is easier to pick up and turn mid-pose.

How to use it

Seated work is where the shape helps most. Sit on the block for meditation or breathing practice and the angled edges rest comfortably under the backs of your thighs. In a seated forward fold, perch on the front edge so your pelvis tilts forward and your lower back stays long.

In kneeling poses, slide the block between your ankles and sit back on it to take some of the bend out of your knees. In standing poses, rest a hand on it the same way you would on a square block. The bevelled edges make it quicker to roll from the low height to the tall one without fumbling.

Who it suits

It suits people who sit on their block a lot, and anyone who finds square cork corners hard on the hands. Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry in the air before you put it away. Don’t soak it. Cork picks up small dents and marks over time, which is normal and doesn’t change how the block works.
