A 180cm strap has less spare length to manage, which suits smaller people, seated work and packing into a travel bag. It’s 3.8cm wide, so it sits flat around your foot.

How to use it

A shorter strap is easiest to handle in seated poses. In head-to-knee pose, sit with one leg straight and the other foot tucked into the inner thigh. Loop the strap around the foot of the straight leg, hold both ends and lengthen up through your spine before you fold forward. Shorten your grip on the strap as you go, instead of pulling yourself down.

In a seated twist, loop the strap around your front foot and hold it with the opposite hand to help you turn without collapsing your chest.

It also works for a gentle side stretch. Sit or stand tall, hold the strap overhead with your hands wide apart and arms straight, and lean slowly to one side, then the other.

The D-ring makes a fixed loop when you need one. Feed the end through both rings, back through the inner ring, and pull. A loop around your upper arms in dolphin or forearm plank stops your elbows sliding apart.
