Bloom Yoga Mat Blue

The Bloom yoga mat in blue has a grippy polyurethane (PU) top on a natural rubber base. It’s 183cm long, 61cm wide, 5mm thick and weighs 2.8kg. The PU surface holds your hands in place in dry and sweaty sessions alike, and the rubber base keeps the mat lying flat on the floor.

How to use it

Lay it PU side up. The surface grips straight away, which makes it a good mat for vinyasa classes where you keep returning to plank and downward dog. If your hands tend to sweat, PU is one of the better surfaces for that.

At 5mm the mat is on the firmer side. Standing poses feel stable and grounded, and kneeling work is comfortable on carpet or a rug. On a hard floor, a folded blanket under the knees helps.

2.8kg is heavier than a foam mat, so a carry strap makes the trip to class easier. Rolled up, the mat also fits a standard 61cm mat bag. The Bloom yoga mat carry strap in blue matches this mat. Pink and white versions of the mat are also available.

Care

Wipe the PU surface with a damp cloth after each session, especially after a sweaty one. Avoid oils, vinegar and strong cleaning sprays, which can leave the top patchy or sticky. Let it dry flat, roll it with the PU side facing out, and keep it out of direct sun. PU picks up marks and fingerprints easily, so a mat in regular use will show where your hands go.
