Bloom Yoga Brick Blue

The Bloom yoga brick in blue is a tall foam yoga block, 10cm high instead of the usual 7.5cm. The extra 2.5cm helps when the floor feels a long way off, for example in a standing forward fold or triangle pose when your hamstrings are tight.

It’s made from high-density EVA foam with a hardness rating of 40C, so it’s firm enough to take your weight on one hand without squashing. At 415g it’s heavier than our standard foam blocks, which helps it stay where you put it. It has 8 reviews averaging 4.88 stars.

How to use it

Set the brick flat, on its side or on its end and you get three heights: 10cm, 15cm and 23cm. Start at the tallest height that lets you keep your back long, then lower it over the weeks as you loosen up.

In triangle, place the brick behind your front foot and rest your lower hand on it. In half moon, the brick under your standing-side hand gives you something steady to balance against while you lift the back leg. At the end of a session, lie on your back with the brick flat under your sacrum for a supported bridge and let your legs relax.

The height also makes it a good seat. Kneel with the brick between your heels and sit back onto it, which takes some of the bend out of the knees in hero pose.

Care

Wipe it with a damp cloth. For a sweatier clean, add a drop of mild soap to the cloth, wipe again with plain water and let it air dry away from direct heat.
