Avec Yoga Exercise Ball 45cm

The 45cm Avec yoga exercise ball is the smallest size in the Avec range. Our height guide starts the 55cm ball at 140cm, so this one is for people shorter than that, including children, and for exercises where you hold the ball and move it around.

Avec is a commercial range built for gym use. The body is PVC with a ribbed, textured matte surface that’s easy to grip with bare hands, even when you’re sweaty, and the ball holds its shape when you move your weight around on it.

How to use it

A 45cm ball is a handy size to hold. Common moves are passing it from your hands to your feet while lying on your back, holding it overhead for side bends, or squeezing it against a wall at chest height. For children it works as a seat, a balance toy and something to roll and catch.

It also pairs well with a balance disc or a medicine ball if you want to make a routine harder.

If you want a ball to sit on at a desk, you’ll probably need a bigger one. The 55cm Avec ball is the next size up, and the Swiss ball size guide explains how to match a ball to your height.

Inflating it

Pump the ball up in two goes. Inflate it most of the way, leave it for a day so the PVC stretches, then top it up to 45cm. Check the size against a mark on the wall, because an overinflated ball is harder to control.

Care

Wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild soap. Keep it away from heaters, strong sun and sharp edges, and don’t use it on rough outdoor surfaces.
