A pink Bloom yoga mat with a polyurethane (PU) grip surface over a natural rubber base. PU is what you’ll find on many studio mats known for grip: it’s smooth to touch but holds your palms in place, including when they start to sweat. This one is 183cm by 61cm, 5mm thick and weighs 2.8kg.

Who it suits
Pink Bloom suits people who practise at home or at a nearby studio and want a mat that stays put. The rubber base keeps it lying flat on a wooden or tiled floor, so it won’t curl at the corners or shift when you step back into a lunge.
It’s a good upgrade from a cheap foam mat if your hands slip in downward dog. The 5mm thickness feels firm and stable. If your knees are sensitive, put a folded blanket under them for kneeling poses.
At 2.8kg it’s heavier than foam, so for regular trips to class a strap helps. The pink Bloom carry strap matches this mat. The same mat also comes in blue and white.
How to use it
Unroll it PU side up and let it settle for a moment. Start with your hands shoulder-width apart in plank and notice how the surface holds as you press back to downward dog. After class, give it a quick wipe so sweat doesn’t sit on the top.
Care
Wipe the PU surface with a damp cloth after each session, especially after a sweaty one. Avoid oils, vinegar and strong cleaning sprays, which can leave the top patchy or sticky. Let it dry flat, roll it with the PU side facing out, and keep it out of direct sun. PU picks up marks and fingerprints easily, so a mat in regular use will show where your hands go.
